Headquarter members continue their relief work in the disaster areas.

In May the two volunteer relief teams sent by Rissho Kosei-kai's East Japan Earthquake Task Force to Kamaishi, Iwate Prefecture, and Ishinomaki, Miyagi Prefecture, continued their relief work in the disaster areas. The teams, composed of Rissho Kosei-kai headquarters staff members, were called Zenyu-tai (teams of good friends). Both teams engaged in various activities to meet local members' needs, including checking on their safety and evacuation locations, as well as cleaning members' houses that had been damaged by the earthquake or tsunami.

They also visited shelters and member's homes and gave compensation money and relief supplies from the headquarters to afflicted members. Three team members returned to Tokyo on May 17, and the other on May 22. The task force sent four more volunteers to Kamaishi on May 16.

The five-member team that went to the Ishinomaki Dharma Center began its activities on May 9. They surveyed damage and visited members' homes and helped clean their houses. They also sorted and bagged relief supplies for distribution. Four team members continued working till May 18, and the other till May 21. Another four joined in the relief work on May 16.
